Magnolia Bluebird

Danielle comes from a long line of Southern women who taught her to believe in hard work, real butter, gracious hospitality and "laugh lines" (never crows feet). So when it came time to name this beautiful event company, naming it after them was the easy part. Nailing down a lifetime of love, inspiration, passion, stubborness and life's lessons in a few words was far more difficult.

My "magnolia" is my grandmother Edith who had a way of making you feel as if you were the only person in the room in a sea of hundreds. She had a twinkle in her eye that always made you think she was up to something (which she usually was) and a giggle that would light up your world. She taught me that entertaining should be gracious and design should appeal to your way of life.

She had a prized magnolia tree that became the provider of our holiday centerpieces. Magnolia is a forever reminder of the woman that shaped my love for entertaining, planning special events, gracious hospitality and the never ending need for true laughter and a friendly hug (and as in true Southern fashion, yes… a refreshing cocktail).

“If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why, oh why can’t I?”  Growing up, my mother was in constant pursuit of creating a life doing the very things she loved most: art and teaching. A former realtor who squeezed in craft fairs in between open houses and property tours was not satisfied with average. She is now an award winning artist and gallery owner and travels internationally to teach students the art of watercolor. She taught me to start somewhere, dig deep and pursue my dreams.
